Description   The Doctor of the Plague Half Mask stencil, designed by Pam Carriker, was inspired by an experience detailed in her book, Creating Art at the Speed of Life. The plague masks hold special meaning for Pam as they remind her of the medical radiation mask her dad wore while going through treatment for cancer in his face. She still has the mask that her dad wore and has started to work it into a piece of art to commemorate the bravery he displayed and to pay homage to the feelings of fear he described while he had to wear that mask. While the Doctor of the Plague mask stencil can be used to symbolize these emotions in your artwork, these masks can also be viewed as a thing of beauty and strength. Pam loves to use these images over female portrait work as they can cover 'flaws' in artwork as well as add an air of mystery to a face. The masks can also be embellished to create masquerade ball masks reminiscent of Carnivale.
