Description   The Navigation Chart Large mask by Mary Nasser is part of her Navigation Charts series and was inspired by the charts memorized by ancient mariners before setting out across huge expanses of ocean. The original maps were created by tying small sticks together in straight or curved lines to represent the waves of the ocean. Mary has translated those maps into an abstract design that's ideal for adding shape, pattern, and harmony to art journaling, mixed media artwork, backgrounds, and more. Since it's a mask, it's also ideal for monoprinting with a gelatin plate. Mary's Navigation Charts stencil/mask series includes Navigation Chart, Ancient Mariner's Map, Sea Map, Ocean Map, and Voyage. You can find all of Mary’s stencils inspired by maps and travel here. Product Details: 9" x 12" 7 mil mylar is thick enough to be durable, yet thin enough for a seamless look in your art Some Disassembly Required - the Masks are attached to the surround with tabs (small uncut sections of plastic). The tabs are easily cut with a thin blade or sewing scissors. We also suggest good lighting and reading glasses to assist with the process.
