Jamie Fingal is a mixed media artist who makes a daily practice out of
making art; whether it be drawing, painting, block printing, embroidery,
quilting or collage.
Her iconic image has always been a house. It’s her logo. Her first stencil
with StencilGirl was created in 2013 with row houses.
Her career has spanned a few decades as a rebel quilter. She’s old school
and designed fabric with a pencil and a paintbrush in her hand, not a computer.
Words, houses, coffee cups, girls, zippers, and buttons. Hand painted with watercolors to create whimsical and
happy art. She designed fabric for Hoffman Fabrics and RJR Fabrics.
She has traveled the country teaching quilting, drawing and painting. Her
work has been published in many magazines and books, featured in exhibitions
and can be found in private, public and corporate collections. She wrote a book
in 2007 ‘Embellished Mini Quilts’ that is a curated collection of hers and
other makers work.
It gives her great joy to create art on a daily basis, whether on paper, in
the kitchen or in the garden.
