Jane Chipp is a textile, collage, assemblage, and book artist who works primarily with found materials, old papers, photographs, and everyday objects. She finds inspiration in flea markets and second-hand shops, where she collects forgotten fragments of the past and reimagines them into new, expressive artworks.
Jane’s work is rooted in storytelling. She is especially drawn to the quiet intrigue of vintage photographs and handwritten documents, often combining them with domestic or natural objects to create deeply personal and emotive pieces. In 2021, she co-authored ‘Artful Memories: How to Make Unique Art with Old Photographs’, a book celebrating the power of memory and visual narrative.Through her online courses, Jane shares techniques and creative structures that encourage students to explore their own stories, real or imagined, using found imagery and ephemera as a starting point.
