Cecilia continually explores new ways to use art-making tools. Take a deep breath here. Yes! She even goes so far as to cut her stencils into pieces! (The first cut was the hardest – only a pinch less painful than whacking off a finger – but she got over it when she discovered the endless range of images that spring from reassembly of “stencil-chunks.”) Before the happy day when her designs found a home at StencilGirl Products, she designed art rubber stamps for three family-owned US stamp companies. Sandwiched in time between StencilGirl and rubber stamps, she sold online clipart in themes that ranged from vintage to Steampunk to Asian. Before the demise of many hard-copy publications, her artwork was published in Cloth Papers Scissors, Altered Arts, Expression, Somerset Galleria, Crafts n' Things and The Rubber Stamper magazine , where she enjoyed her role as a Contributing designer. Her artmaking adventures have recently led to a focus on collage which, of course, uses stencil-printed papers!
