Cecilia Swatton designed Kelp Forest, Bulbs and Banners, and Seabed Greens as new additions to her collection of nature-inspired abstract stencil designs.

Cecilia says: "Walking the beach at Cali’s Carmel-by-the-Sea, I found strips of giant string kelp (also called bulb kelp) abandoned on the sand after tides had swept it ashore. I saw the bulbs as resembling big seed pods and I saw its streamers as leaves. (In fact, the texture of its streamers inspired my 6” x 6” Seaweed 6 Stencil s099.) But it’s not a land-dwelling a plant. It’s a form of algae. Algae are protists that, like plants, are capable of photosynthesis."
