Born in Norfolk, VA in 1963, and raised for the most part in northeastern NC, Kelly Cameron was exposed to art at a young age by her mother who was an avid artist in her own right. Kelly has always been artfully inclined and to this day art is her passion. “I cannot say it is the most important thing in my life, as that claim goes to my three grown sons, of whom I am extremely proud, but it runs a close second!”

Since moving to the mountains of NC in 2014 she has become very involved with Florence Thomas Art School in West Jefferson, NC, which is a non-profit school, gallery, and retail store which also carries StencilGirl products! Kelly is looking forward to doing demos of her stencil designs in person there.

Self-taught, Kelly works in many mediums, however, her strengths lie in mixed media and collage, and acrylic work. Her style varies from piece to piece depending on the mood and time/supplies allotted for any given art session. Her work has been called “primitive” and “childlike”, being playful and colorful in appearance. “I am a self-proclaimed color junkie, the more and the brighter, the better!” Kelly also has a little studio in her home that is bursting with lots of materials for collage, carving rubber stamps, card-making, journaling, you name it! Kelly started creating her own stencils as an experiment with Xacto knives and mineral paper, and she is thrilled to share these designs with you!
