The West African symbols in this
collection are called Adinkra. Each symbol is a visual image that represents a concept
or an aphorism - a pearl of wisdom. The selected Adinkra symbols are a
collaboration between Wendy Featherston and Trena Brannon aka TreWen. Wendy and
Trena both have an appreciation for beautiful Adinkra symbols and for the words
that describe them.
The West African Symbols 1 ATC Mix-up Stencil
includes symbols and words that represent: affluence, abundance, unity, change,
courage, valor, endurance, resourcefulness, intelligence, ingenuity, morality,
patience, tolerance, perseverance, and support.
Use these stencils on greeting cards, ATCs,
and tags. They are wonderful as a focal point in your art journal or for gelli
printing, and you can use them to create marvelous patterns on fabric.
There are a total of 36 meaningful
symbols and words in total on these four West African ATC Mix-up Stencils
(L817, L818, L819, and L820).
